New Life

So many times down though the ages,

Men and women have come together with special embraces.

The fruit of their deep and abiding love

Was a child, a gift from God above.

But not all special embraces are blessed with God’s consideration.

Thus some lovers are left with the sorrow of no fruition.

Such was the case with your mother and father,

Yet they never gave in to their despair.

They clung to the hope of your conception,

And with the help of their noble physicians, hope was fulfilled by your inception.

But you were not alone inside your mother’s belly.

There were three others and one before you, but God saw fit to take them early.

So while we celebrated your enduring,

We quietly mourned their passing.

Oh, how many times we prayed that God would keep you safe from harm,

And throughout many months of worry, we leaned on His ever- lasting arm.

Finally, the rapturous day of your birth did come and tears filled our eyes,

And we fell to our knees in praise to God and countless prayers did rise.

“We thank Thee, our Father, for the gift of this beautiful infant.

May she serve and love You as we do and may Your merciful hand guide her every step.

May You fill her parents with understanding and wisdom,

And may their home be filled with love, joy, hope, and faith. Amen.”
